Earlier this year when the PS4 was announced I got caught up in the media blitz surrounding the consoles reveal and every new game trailer that came with it. I eventually convinced myself that I had to have this console the day it came out.
By launch day I had lost nearly all of my enthusiasm for the new console. The price, the lack of backwards compatibility and most importantly the price of the games had all chipped away at my need for a PS4. Possibly the final blow came with the lackluster reviews of launch titles. On Black Friday I bought a PS3, it came with Batman and the Last of Us for just 200$, on top of that I bought a years subscription to PS plus. Now I have over a dozen games that are free with my subscription that I could not have got for the PS4. I'm finally getting to play all the great exclusives that I missed out on over the years-Uncharted 3 is the most jaw dropping action game/movie I've ever played! The PS3 is small and better looking than my old clunky DVD player, it is the perfect home entertainment system with blue ray and wi fi that lets stream movies from Amazon Prime, Crackle, and Netflix.
I was worried that this had been an impulse buy, who buys an 8 year old console at the beginning of the next generation? A fool? maybe, but if so I am a happy fool who is currently spending way to much time on his brand new last gen console!
