UPDATE: The first three issues of SEASONS are free to read right now, and SEASONS #4 - the fourth and final issue of the first story arc - just debuted! The Kickstarter for the first graphic novel launches next month!

Original Story: Hold on, hold on, give me a minute. I'm pretty sure I know what you were thinking when you saw the title to this blog post on a gaming website such as this one - "Who in the heck does this dude think he is posting this on gameinformer.com of all places? Go spam some other nerdy site that actually cares." Okay, maybe you didn't come down that hard with first glance, but still, it might've crossed your mind, right? And I'll be honest: that's what I would've thought, so I suppose it's just a natural, logical reaction in the face of the facts. Do comic books and video games go hand in hand within geek/nerd/gamer culture? Maybe not always, but in most cases, I would say they do. This is the ultimate reason why I wanted to promote my comic book on here and felt like it was safe to do so. I'm a pretty big gamer and used to blog on Game Informer on a monthly basis. I don't know if anyone here in the community remembers me, but I really enjoyed being a part of this community and thought it'd be all right to write a little post on here if anyone else is also a big gamer and a big comic book reader. It couldn't hurt, in the least.

Anyways, so, yeah, my name is Nandor Fox Shaffer (WS-N is my gamer alias), and I am the creator and writer of SEASONS, a new comic book drama I just launched this past Monday at seasonsthecomicbook.com. This past summer I've been working with Anthony Gonzales-Clark, the artist and letterer of SEASONS, to bring to life something I started brainstorming and scribbling down two years ago. The idea was: what if you followed one man through one year of his life, and in this one year, he became the person he was meant to be? And what if, with each seasonal transition, he was given new and different powers to aid him on this path of discovery? As the world changes, so would this character. This concept just clicked with me. I wanted to tell this story, and I wanted to share it with the world. And I would call it 'SEASONS.'

"SEASONS is an original, creator-owned comic book drama for readers who want be a part of a deep and serious one year journey that will challenge how they look at themselves, others and the world around them. The story of SEASONS revolves around one character, Fletcher Hart Iiams, a misunderstood, average young man who isn’t happy with life anymore and has run away from almost everything and everyone. The entirety of this series will span over one year of Fletcher’s life as SEASONS is planned to be four separate but interconnected stories that follow the seasons of the year. The title has a two-fold meaning: the seasons of the year and the “seasons” people go through throughout their lives. There will be four graphic novel stories — Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter — and each storyline deals with a combination of different obstacles, enemies, themes and problematic situations the main character will have to face all set in real time. Fletcher is given a new set of powers with every seasonal transition as well; as the world changes, so does he. It is an allegorical character study piece ultimately about finding a reason to live in this world that will drag you down with it if you let it.

This is SEASONS, a comic book drama presented by Nandor Fox Shaffer and Anthony Gonzales-Clark."

My plan is to build a big enough fanbase so I can self-publish SEASONS and give it out to its followers and those who prefer to read comics in print form (like me haha). I'm also planning on pitching it to independent comic book publishers to see what they think about it as well. It's a massive undertaking, but I know it'll be worth it. I want to make something that is powerful, that really touches people, and I hope SEASONS will do that. If you're interested in SEASONS, all of the information can be found at seasonsthecomicbook.com where the first three issues are posted. A new page will be posted every Monday and Friday, so, if you like it, please do check back and continue to read Fletcher's story. I also have links to the social media outlets where you can like and follow SEASONS. You can even subscribe to get updates via email on new posts and such. It's all free, too, just to clarify. Read SEASONS at your discretion and on your own time.

In any case, thank you to all who took the time to read this post and not flood the comments with angry threats. I hope you'll take the time to read SEASONS and keep up with it weekly. Please subscribe to the site, subscribe to the official SEASONS YouTube channel, “Like” Seasons – The Comic Book on Facebook, “Follow” SEASONSthecomic on Twitter, and follow me and my artist, Anthony, on Instagram as we post weekly updates there as well (you'll find all the links on the site itself). I'd appreciate any feedback, and I'd be forever grateful for telling your friends, family, and fellow gamer and comic book acquaintances alike.

Thanks so much once again,

~ N. Fox
