The un-touchable world of the witcher 3

I recently began replaying the witcher 3, this will make my 3rd play through. When the game originally released I beat the game literally twice back to back GOG. said I  had spent 180 hours with Geralt and pals. I am replaying it again because though I bought the expansion pass I had never gotten around to playing either addon and having misplaced my new game plus a game as well made as the witcher 3 deserves a full play through ( not tomention playing just the dlc does not give you your gwent deck or potions potions or bombs :/ )

I find my self really role playing the part of the witcher not hurriedly running or fast traveling through the world. Really soaking it all in( I recommend playing the game with music turned off and a good7.1 head set.. the sound design is F##king crazy!)

The Witcher 3 is a massive world fully detailed, where every village and hut really feels like it has been there forever.... The longer I spend with it at this slower methodical pace, the more I realize however the game world its self is a very "look ,but don't touch" a set piece. A beautiful set piece mind you. While Geralt certainly feels as though he belongs in this world  the lack of interactivity with it makes me the player feel like I am not. Inns for example. these establishments filled with beds but Geralt can not rest in any of them. instead he must statically meditate to pass time. A world filled with chairs bar stools benches over looking scenic vistas that maybe a nice place to sit relax take a screen shot all devoid of interactivity. While npcs may react to Geralt the game world its self is completely indifferent to him being in it. No matter how well lived in a game world looks if you can't interact with it then it may as well be a painting hanging on a wall.  This is a minor gripe really. it does not hurt my opinion of the game over all. but plugging thousands of ours into games like Skyrim and Fallout where the world offers this small amount of interactivity for some reason makes me miss it in the Witcher 3 and thus makes the game seem a little less alive.
