The Adventures Of A Gamer Teacher: A New Teacher

I'm new to writing blog series as they require a lot of source material and inspiration, but when the inspiration does come, it all is worth the wait. These adventures of mine with my students have been really awesome, I gotta admit. My girlfriend has also shown in the fun as well, making the experiences even more memorable. Having my ensemble cast with me had already made my party a good one indeed, but just like it happens in RPGs, it happens in real life: my best friend has now joined the fun as well.

Me and my best friend started talking once again after 3 years, so it was only natural we resume our sharing of life, work and stuff. I mentioned him about my time with GameInformer right off the bat, and among all the talking, these blog series surely did stand out for two reasons. First, the way I mixed my work, games and new found friendships with my writing and second, that I wanted to add him in these adventures someday. Guess it all happened too fast, huh? Again with video game references, all this wouldn't have happened if it wasn't by one of my 3 students who, wanting to improve his English, started taking private classes with me as his teacher.

To want to improve one's knowledge on something is very admirable, regardless of the subject at hand. Having said that, once I went to my student's house I decided to teach him using video games as extra help as he is also a gamer, and what a help has that been. From wanting to know how exactly did I learn by playing video games, to read my old GameInformer magazines to listen to music together and guess the lyrics, one can say this boy does want to keep improving. Oh, I think I got too excited as a teacher by teaching someone that dedicated. Continuing with the topic at hand, this boy lives near my best friend's house so I would ultimately end up going to pay my best friend a visit after the private classes and so it happened, with this younger member of the party at my side.

Not being experienced into introducing friends, I was expecting them to meet, have a small talk and that's it. But thing was, they both got along well, very well actually. At this point I realized something very important: I may not have many friends, but those I've managed to make have a lot in common with me and my other friends, so my social links can be linked, correct? That's was the last video game reference for this blog, I promise. In the end we decided to plan a meeting with the others, so expect more of my The Adventures Of A Gamer Teacher blog series soon once that meeting takes place.

My best friend is also an English teacher, hence will be becoming the new teacher in this party of ours, and I couldn't be happier to continue adding good people to it.

Thanks for Reading.
