My Thought On The Next Chapter Of The Famous Console War

I knew it took me a while to actually right this blog, because I couldn't figure out which console has been doing better. If I were to write this before Microsoft fixed their horrible ideas(which I don't think they were going to use before), Sony would have definitely won this battle of the console wars. Now, though, I think that it will be much harder to choose. What I'm going to do is tell what each console is doing and then compare them by different things, like hardware, games, and other focuses of entertainment. This is just my opinion, so please don't take this for a fact. Enjoy!

(Xbox One)

If Microsoft wouldn't have fixed what would have been probably the worst console ever, this wouldn't even have been blog worth writing. But now, with them using practices for the console that makes more sense, I think that Microsoft will do pretty well. While I'm not a big fan of the current Kinect, I think that the second Kinect, whatever they call it, will work very well outside of workout games and dance games. But the whole"Kinect is watching you" situation will probably be nothing, because Microsoft would never get away with being able to watch people in their own living room. The hardware seems comparable to high power gaming PCs, so it will have powerful graphics behind it, just to make the games look better than ever on console. The controller doesn't seem to change all that much from the Xbox 360 controller, which I don't have a problem with, because the Xbox 360 controller is almost perfect. The design of the console, which doesn't matter too much to me, is pretty cool. The actual games, which is the main point of this game, seems really good. I watched the E3 press conference from Microsoft, and their games all have me excited, which is surprising, because I didn't think too much about them before hand. This console, I think, will have a better launch lineup than the PS4, and that's saying something, seeing as how the PS4 has a pretty impressive launch lineup. Sunset Overdrive, Dead Rising 3, and Ryse are just a few of the great exclusives that Microsoft has set up, and they all look fantastic to me. Microsoft seems to have, once again, impressed me with the games that they have in store for us. The Xbox One will definitely be a success, but will it go over with gamers more than casual people who buy this? Only time will tell, but I think Microsoft has good things coming for us.

(PS4)

The PS4, unlike the Xbox One, hasn't had to change anything about how it's going to work, so people, or at least I, feel more comfortable buying a console from a company that didn't want to screw me over to begin with. The camera doesn't get shipped with the console, which was a great business plan, because I don't want to go out and pay $500 dollars for a console with a stupid Kinect crowd cash in. With it being $100 dollars cheaper, more people will probably want to buy the PS4, but I'm not looking at price tag, but rather the hardware and the games. The hardware is very similar, almost the same, as the Xbox One, so they will both be like high end gaming PCs, which means that games like Killzone and Infamous, which were good looking games in themselves, much better looking. The controller seems to be a great improvement over the controller of the PS3, which I don't like as much as the Xbox 360, but it's still a great controller. The console design is the best of all the next gen consoles, and that's coming from someone who loves the design of the Xbox One. The games, while impressive, just don't hold as much to me as the games for Xbox One. The only exclusives that I can remember are Infamous: Second Son and Killzone:Shadow Fall. The others, while good, I'm sure, aren't memorable for me, and I've tried to remember these games so that I could list them. I could list at least five games for Xbox One, while I can only list two for PS4, which says to me that they don't have as impressive a launch line up. And what I think Sony did that might make people go to Microsoft more is the fact that you will now have to pay to play online, something you didn't have to do with the PS3. And while that really just puts the two consoles at equality, that makes me wonder why they wanted to make that decision. It just makes people who can't afford the online for the Xbox One to have to pay anyway if they like playing online with their friends, which puzzles me. They could have had a real advantage that would have brought in more people if they wouldn't have put online pay behind the paywall.

(Comparison)

With my view on how the two consoles seem to be doing, I'm going to give my opinion for which console is better and also tell you what console I will have, to let you guys know what kinds of reviews are in wait for the future. While Sony seems to have crowd support at the moment, and they have done us right all along, the paywall thing really bothers me, because I hate paying to play online, and they would have had me pre-ordering a new PS4 right away, but now I can't say that. Microsoft started off wanting to enact business practices that even drunk people wouldn't be happy about, but they seemed to have fixed it now, and their much better for it. And while $100 dollars more seems steep, there are also just more fun games coming to the Xbox One, which sort of takes Sony off that high throne everybody seems to be putting them on. But, with all that in mind, I will now state who I think will do better with their console. And I think that it's actually, and this will surprise people, Microsoft, because they just have more games that I would want to buy, from Titanfall to Quantum Break. But, at the same time, I will honestly try to buy both consoles, with the Xbox One coming first, just for the games.

Tell me in the comments below which console you will be buying, and whether you agree with or dissagree with my opinion, but remember that this is my opinion, so please don't go down just being Sony or Microsoft fanboys who want to rant at my views. I am excited to hear what some of you think, and I just want to see how many sad people had to say that they bought an Ouya. Have a nice day!
