Hello fellow members of GIO! Saturday Morning Replay here today with a short blog talking about my upcoming 31 for 31 this July. Why this July? Well, I’m doing this for a couple of reasons: First, July will mark the half a year mark since I first created an account here on GIO. I’ll be the first to say that I’ve enjoyed every moment of my time on here so far. Everyone has been very receptive of my blogs, and I’ve met some incredible people and bloggers on here. I’ve even made some friends along the way. However, I feel as if I haven’t been able to be on here as much as usual, and that bums me out just a little bit. So I would like to help contribute to this awesome place, and hopefully write some blogs that people can really come to enjoy. I feel as if I was a lot active earlier in the year, only to have that trail off lately due to how busy my personal life has been.
Another reason for this 31 for 31 is that I’ve really wanted to improve my writing ever since I’ve joined GIO. I feel as if some improvement has been made, but I would love to see one of my blogs herded one day. In addition to my own blogs though, I’ll be able to be on here and give comments to some of the other great blogs on the user blogs page, which is one of my favorite things to do, despite rarely having time to do so.
Yet another reason for this 31 for 31 is religious. As many of you know, I’m a Muslim. One of the things that I partake in as a Muslim is the Holy Month of Ramadan. During Ramadan, I have to fast, which entails withholding from eating or drinking from sunrise to sunset. Since Ramadan falls during most of July and the early part of August, the fasting is really long (4 A.M.-9 P.M. to be exact.) While fasting, a lot of my time will be spent relaxing indoors, and so I’ll have more time to be on GIO. This increase of time will help make a 31 for 31 possible. Of course, if anyone has any questions regarding Ramadan, I’ll be more than happy to provide any info or have a discussion regarding it.
Now what will my blogs be about? Well, I’m not going to go into too much detail, but I’ll say that some blogs will take a look at Game Informer’s Replay series, some will be in a more celebratory, light fashion, and some will take a deeper focus into aspects of the medium such as race, religion and transportation. It’s sure to be wild, informative, and a bit bizarre. Classic Saturday Morning Replay hopefully.
I really have no idea if I will follow through with this or how good my blogs will end up. If I’m being 100% honest, I’m actually really nervous. A lot of really good bloggers have undertaken this challenge. I just hope to provide entertaining blogs, and to see some improvement in my writing.
