Hello everyone and welcome to day 23 of my 31/31! It’s surprising that it’s gone by so fast, and I hope to crank out some good blogs here to finish off the series. Today’s blog is more of a fun blog, and isn’t anything serious. For those of you who read my Ode to TF2 blog, today’s blog is going to be in a similar manner as that one. If you haven’t read that blog, go do it now. Jokes aside, the general idea of this series is that I write a poem/rap/rhyme about one of my favorite games. I do spoken word and some freestyle rapping as side hobbies, and I love this sort of thing. My previous blog in the series was pretty well received by you all, so I hope you all enjoy this one as well. With that being said, here is my “Ode to Mario Kart”:
Mario Kart a series that is world famous
Just don’t get in last place, that music will try to shame us.
With many entries I think that it’s fitting,
if I start this whole poem at the series beginning.
The first Mario Kart I did not play a lot
I was a little kid. I had gaming skills. Not.
But the game started the series, what a trooper,
I guess that’s why it’s the Mario Kart that is super.
Next up is Mario Kart 64.
With some great tracks like Toad’s Freeway, it isn’t a bore.
The character roster stayed at 8.
But they swapped Koopa Troopa for Wario, Sneering out of the gate.
The first for the handheld is next, Super Circuit!
You could zoom around these tracks if you knew how to work it.
The characters were split into three different classes,
but you know for sure there still will be passes.
Next up is my favorite, that’s right Double Dash!
It’s the game with the most replay value for my hard-earned cash.
With the best battle mode, bom-omb’s explode in a flash,
Just try not to get hit by that blue shell, CRASH!
Next up is another solid game, Mario Kart DS.
The karts in this game are some of the best.
Dry Bones’ tank was my favorite,
If I played as him, defeat is what my foes admit.
Now this game coming up is the last that I owned,
Mario Kart 8 is the last game with skills that have been honed.
With the most characters and some great carts too,
It’s too bad the gameplay left some feeling blue.
Next up is the latest entries in the series; Mario Kart 7.
With hang gliders galore, the karts seem like their flying to heaven.
Less characters than for Wii, but still a decent amount.
People were wondering what some of the character choices were about.
Mario Kart 8 approaches, it’s yet to be released.
However, my excitement for the game has not ceased.
With magnets on the walls, it looks really neat,
There’s HD graphics too, so it’s a visual treat.
This wraps up the end of the ode.
Just try not to fall off of Rainbow Road.
I wrote this in 20 minutes, it wasn’t that easy,
So I hope you don’t find the lyrics too cheesy.
That’s all for today’s blog everyone! What did you all think of the Ode? Did you like it? What game would you like me to tackle next? As always, feel free to leave a comment, and I’ll be sure to respond as soon as I can. Thanks for reading!
