My top 10 PS3 TPS

As you may recall a while ago, I did my favorite first person shooters on the PS3. This time, I'm doing my favorite third person shooters on the PS3. In my opinion, I like Third person better then First person. I feel actually seeing the character helps alot with the character development. Just like First person, third person happened a while ago. Starting with some games like Nintendo's Radar Scope and Sega's Tac/Scan. Now look how the third person shooter genre has evolved over the past three and half decades. Let's get started with my list with my honorable mention.

Honorable mention:

Infamous 2

The original InFAMOUS was the first PS3 exclusive I've ever played, and it was so much fun. When I heard a sequel was in the works, I was so happy. For me, the game didn't disappoint at all. Loved the improvement in graphics, felt like it was twice as fun, I was hooked in the story, and overall it was a enjoyable game.

Spec ops: The line

Spec ops: The line was one of those games where after the trailer for it, I knew I was going to get it. No matter how bad, or crappy it could be, I'm getting it. Turns out, I think most critics are wrong. This game is great. Dark and gritty stories always get me, and I loved Spec ops's story, and the characters were really good. I think this game might be one of the most underrated game of all-time.

10. Tomb Raider

I'll admit, my expectations weren't to high for this game. It look cooled cool, but I just wasn't told. After reviews came in, and Matt Miller's encouraging words about it, I thought I give it a try. This is definitely a dark and gritty game. I was surprised at some points how dark the game was going, and I loved it. Even after the 9 hour story, I still wanted to play because there's still alot to do, and it's so much fun. If you're a fellow adventuer, and you haven't tried this, then what are you doing? Stop reading this, and get this game. Shame though the multiplayer wasn't to good. At least it's not as bad as Spec ops's multiplayer.

9. Max Payne 3

For a while, I had a tradition that I'd get a Rockstar game every May before school ended. Started with a sick day, and Red dead Redemption, L.A Noire, and then Max Payne 3. It took so long to get this game out. When it did, I was happy because I wanted to hear how good it is. Turned out it was good, so I went and bought it, and it's action pack through the whole way. Don't just think that it's action all the way that it has no story. No, it has a great story showing how low a character can go, and if he can pick him self up. Plus, if you ain't sold on any of this. The game has a surprisingly fun multiplayer. I wasn't expecting anything special, but it was really fun. Rockstar seems to never disappoint.

The next 2 really went back and forth for me so here they are.

8. Metal Gear solid 4: Guns of Patriots

I remember I had gotten MGS4 for my birthday. Once I picked the controller up, I couldn't put it down. Until I got stuck about 5 hours in, and couldn't figure it out. It was where you had to follow the footprints. Couldn't figure it out. So, I abadoned it for about a year. A year later, I said I'm going to try this again. Sure enough, I got past that part, and beaten the game. The game was truly a brilliant game. This was the first MGS game I have played, but the story was so good, and the characters were great. Even if I was confused some, this game blew me away.

7. Grand Theft Auto 4

I've always wanted to try Grand theft auto 4. I mean the game looks awesome, but for 3 years, I got the "It's to mature for you.". Don't you love that. Here Christmas came, and I finally had it. The first hour of the game for me didn't blow me away, I still kept trying. Luckily, this game started to pick up. Soon, it had a great crime story going on. I've always liked crime movies, and this was one of my favorite those stories. Plus, Niko Belic is one heck of a character. Literatlly the story alone is a good 25-30 hours, and there's hundreds of more hours of gameplay for you to screw with. Enjoy, and God bless America! The land of opportunity.

6. Red dead Redemption

Like I said earlier, Red dead redemption was my first Rockstar game. I was sick, and school was ending, so I asked if I could get this game. Sure enough, I got this game and this was just great. Truly a masterpiece. Easily the best western videogame. You got your western location, you got your western story, you have your western characters, and you have easily one of the greatest videogame characters of all-time. This game had me hooked the minute I had it put in. The game wowed me, made me sad, happy, and wowed again. This is a game you don't want to miss out.

5. Mass effect 2

As you all may know from my blog I posted yesterday, Mass effect 2 was my introduction game to a new genre I've never played, and it couldn't have been any better. Bioware has created an amazing universe, and amazing characters that I was just amazed. From the explosive begining, to the intense and sad ending, I loved Mass effect 2 every single second. Except the abandoned collector ship. I hated every second of that mission.

4. Mass effect 3

You knew this was coming. After Mass effect 2 ended, I needed more. So, as I was watching the VGAs(Yes, I watch it), this was announced. My jaw dropped and I was gitty with joy. The wait was finally over, and it did not disappoint. In fact, I think it improved everything that Mass effect 2 did. If that's possible. Throughout the story, you can clarily tell the small hope humanity has, and I absolutely love the desperation feel. Mass effect 3 really had no down side for me, and is one of my favorite games of all-time.

The next 2 were really tough. Even more tough then before. After a while of thinking, I've figured out my decision. Here's your Big Three.

3. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

Uncharted 2 was my first uncharted game, and my second PS3 exclusive, and it's easily one of my favorite games of all-time. It had tons of action, great setpieces, great character, with phenominal voice acting. All along with beautiful graphics that still beat some of today's graphics on some games. I played Uncharted 2 so much because it really had no flaw. This might be stupid, but I've played through it, and I don't see what's wrong with it. The multiplayer might not suite everyone, but I thought it was fun. If you have a PS3, get this game, and this series because this is the greatest seires on the PS3.

2. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

After Uncharted 2, I didn't want a wait for another uncharted. Sure enough I did have to wait, but then a little buzz was coming in that and Uncharted 3 reveal was going to be on the VGAs. Where do you think I was? That's right. Watching the VGAs, and at the ended, they showed it. I was thrilled, excited, all sort of emotions. Then when it came out, I couldn't believe it. Uncharted 3 did so many things right, and I think improved the story, had better characters, had better graphics, and overall a better uncharted game then Uncharted 2. Truly a remarkable game.

Of course, number 1. We're here. My number 1 PS3 TPS is.......

1. The last of us

I remember joking with my brother before The last of us was announced, I joked,"I wonder if Nuaghty Dog can do a Mature game?". First off, don't question Naughty Dog. Second, as soon as the last of  us was announced. I was interested. Then more stuff came out. Then more and more info came out. By the time it came out, I've probably never been so excited for a game. My mouthed dropped the first 15 minutes. The game was intense. I was on the edge of my seat. Easily the best looking game I've ever seen. Easily the best duo in aa game, and probably one of my favorite, if not my favorite game of all-time. This game is turly a game of the ages that everyone should try. It does make you be stealthy, and it can be brutal, but you can't pass on a opportunity like this. This is a phenominal game that you should try.

Well, that's my list. Thanks go out to TheSniper for making the idea of doing a best FPS and TPS blog. I did take a break in between, but happy I did it. These are turly great game you should try. So, what did you all think? Agree or disagree with anything? Thanks again for reading and commenting, and Adios Amigos!

Your Amigo,

Juanolo
