Please note, this piece is not based in the Pindaric or Horatian ode formats. It is based in what one would call, irregular or informal format. I chose this format because Pindaric is more suited to live recital with thrills such as dancing, and Horatian does not provide one with enough freedom.
Ode to Puzzles Games
Pique my interest and pick my brain.
Oh, ye who is a clever wolf in game's clothing!
A digital Cheshire Cat to my Alice!
Posing riddles, but never answers!
Your's is a tough love, you silent guide.
Always watching, even as I agonize over you!
A spiral into madness! My mind hits a wall!
Silent even as I whisper, "Maybe this is the key."
But, alas! I'm wrong again!
Though, try as I might, I just can't leave.
For you are a mysterious lock, a tricky prison.
And I can't seem to find the key: the answer!
But, I don't mind.
For, 'tis all a puzzling game.
Well, this was my first attempt at video game themed poetry. Hope you enjoyed.
