Hello readers! Recently, my blog "5 Pikmin that need to be included in the next Pikmin game" made it into Gameinformers newsletter. It was my tenth blog post and I am very happy that it was able to be included. I plan on continuing to make blogs and I thank my readers for reading my blogs. So lets get down to what this blog is about. This past October, Pokemon X and Y, the sixth installments (unless you count the other series like ranger, dungeon, or shadow games) in the Pokemon series were released. The games sold very well and the games recieved positive reviews. If you are a fan of the Pokemon series, then you are familiar with the world setup with each game. If you aren't, here is a brief description. Each game takes place in a seperate region in the Pokemon world. Each region has it's own Pokemon, gyms, Pokemon champions leauge, and locations. As a longtime fan, I have played almost every Pokemon game and explored each region. So I have created a list based on my opinion of the best regions to the worst regions. This list does not include regions from other games other than the main ones.

1. Johto

The Johto region tops my list for many reasons. The second instalment's region did almost everything right. The starters were pretty well balanced and cool looking. They were strong and unique. This region introduced some of the coolest, and most iconic Pokemon in the series. The gyms and elite four were challenging and offered a unique challenge for players. The villianous group team rocket was a great villian for the games. The trio of games called Gold, Silver and Crystal, introduced some of the most famous legendaries in the series. The main two legendaries are the birds Ho-Oh and Lugia, the stars of Pokemon Gold and Silver, and also their remakes Heart Gold and Soul Silver. These legendaries are well designed and awesome. I think this region was the perfect world for Pokemon trainers to run around and explore in.

2. Hoen

The third generation of Pokemon games had a great region. The Hoen region was the setting for the 3 Pokemon games titled Rubie, Sapphire, and Emerald. This regions starters were well desighned and strong, but the grass starter called Treecko was much weaker than mudkip or torchic. This region had a tough elite four, but fairly easy gyms. This region was home to many great new pokemon and places. The story was great and so were the villian groups called team magma and team aqua. This region was a great setting for the game, but a few minor imperfections kept it from being number one on my list.

3. Kanto

This region was the setting of the first four Pokemon games and their remakes. It's startes are all virtually equal and perfactly designed and this made it hard for trainers to decide which to choose. The gyms in this game were pretty easy and the elite four was one of the easiest in the whole series. This games story was probably the best one in the series, including a evil organization known as team rocket. The 3 main legendaries however, weren't very cool looking compared to all the others in the series. This region introduced the first pokemon and the first Pokemon game ever. It has been revisited many times in other games because of it's greatness. This region may be the first region, but it isn't first on my list. The later games further improved on what this game lacked and this region paved the way for future great regions.

4.Sinnoh

The region of the generation 4 games was a memorable one. It had unique climates everywhere and all three starters were great. They were well designed and balanced out amongst eachother. This region introduced plenty of new pokemon and some of the greatest legendary pokemon ever. Some of the regions setbacks were it's elite four and gyms. They were all easy and predictable, which was kinda dissapointing. The evil group in this game, team galactic, were odd and the most ruthless group of all. This region was great, but a few minor setbacks kept this one from the top three.

5.Kalos

This region was the newest one in the series. The starters are relatively even and the region is interestingly designed. The region is home to many past pokemon and very few new pokemon. One bad part about this region is that the elite four or gyms aren't extremely challenging. It has some awesome legendary pokemon and cities. The regions team is down to earth and very interested in money, but are very different compared to other teams and aren't quite as evil compared to some of the more ruthless teams. This was a ok region, but it wasn't quite as good as other regions.

6.Unova

My last ranked team is the setting for Pokemon black, white, black 2, and white 2. It's starters are slightly unbalanced, Oshawat and Tepig are much more powerful than snivy. It introduced quite a bit of new pokemon, but most of them weren't that memorable. It's legendarys were great, but I found it odd when they were mixed together. It's gyms and elite four were easy. It had a pretty good storyline, but the sequels to the original games were unusual. It's team was oddly dressed and pretty normal. The region had some memorable locations which were mainly big cities. This region was good, but the weakest of all.

So that is my list. What did you think? What would your list be? Feedback is encouraged. I hope you enjoyed reading. Keep on gaming!
