There are a lot of games that are coming out that look great. I want to take a look at some of them and give my opinion on where they will go after this as a franchise. I am talking about any big game that I could think of, so if the game you wanted to see isn't on here, tell me in the comments below which game it is, and I will tell you how I feel that game will do. This is just my opinion, so please don't take this for a fact. Enjoy!
(Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag)
I am a big fan of the AC franchise, but I'm waning a little bit on it, with them coming out every year since AC: Brotherhood. I've heard(I don't have a reliable source, so don't take this for a fact yet) that this game has been in development for six years, just as I've heard about AC III. And while I'm sure that the staples of AC will be in this installment as well(which isn't a bad thing), I just can't get myself too excited for this game. But, there is some excitement for it, so I do think that this game will sell well, although I also think that after this installment, AC needs a break.
(Battlefield 4)
Battlefield 4's preorders are actually higher than that of COD: Ghosts, so it's easy to say that this game has won over the more hardcore gaming crowd. And it should, with better graphics, more teamwork based multiplayer, and just more engaging multiplayer, Battlefield 4 will have the advantage with gamers like me this year. But, will it win over the general public enough to make more money than COD: Ghosts? I hate to say that I doubt it. Not to say that this game won't do well, though. It will sell very well, I'm sure, but it still won't beat out COD: Ghosts in sells. A sequel is sure to come, though, so they will have a third chance to beat out COD.
(Call Of Duty: Ghosts)
Call Of Duty: Ghosts is the underdog this year. It's got to somehow outdo the great Black Ops II, both in sells and in quality. But, with controls that are as good as ever, graphics that look the best in the franchise, and a lot of changes to the multiplayer(even if all the changes are safe), this game, like Black Ops II, is striving to do a little more than what's expected from COD. But, will it sell the millions of copies that it does every year and make a billion dollars? I believe so, although it won't happen as fast as Black Ops II. There will, obviously, be a sequel, so that's a given, but more chances are surely going to be taken with the next installment, with the next gen hardware being in full swing next year.
(Dying Light)
Dying Light comes from the developers of the truly one-of-a-kind Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide. Many have said that this game seems to be the same game with just a different name. I was even one of those people. But, now I can safely say that this game will be a little more. And while improving the shooting mechanics couldn't hurt(Techland doesn't seem to be able to get the shoot mechanic down), this game looks to be another great game from Techland. But will it sell well? I think it will. Everybody's still into this whole zombie fad that we've gotten ourselves caught up in, so this game will easily sell well. And a sequel will also surely come.
(Mad Max)
This game is really unpredictable. We barely know what this game's about, but there's excitement for it. That alone should say that this game will do well, but still, it's hard to tell. Fans of the movies will probably play this game, but anybody else is almost uncertain. If this game embraces some of the humor of the movie, than yes. But, if it's serious, than not really. But, we will have to wait and see, and a sequel is just as uncertain.
(Murdered: Soul Suspect)
I think that this game is at the very least interesting. It sounds like a cool idea for a game, and I can't wait to see what the devs do with it. But, I don't think that they are doing enough to get people talking about Murder: Soul Suspect. Unless they start to get people talking, then I don't think that this game will do too well, although a hardcore audience will assuredly arise. A sequel is probably not going to happen, but a surprise could be in store.
(Ryse: Son Of Rome)
This game seems very interesting. From the combat, which looks extremely brutal and violent, which is what we want, to the extremely beautiful graphics, and finally to the useful Kinect functionality. But, even with those things, I still don't think that this game will do to well with the general public. With the hardcore audience, it will probably do well(if you're buying an Xbox One), but with the larger gaming audience as a whole, this game will probably be the only one in the franchise.
(Tom Clancy's The Division)
Tom Clancy games have been lacking as of late(I won't steal what was written for the story in the e3 gameinformer, but I have to add that part, at least), so maybe Tom Clancy has made another gem with this game. The controls look great, the graphics are amazing, and the fact that so many different genres are being combined will probably interest people. I think that this game will do well, and a sequel is entirely possible, and is almost guaranteed from Ubisoft(they stated it themselves).
(Titanfall)
Everybody is talking about Titanfall. This game just looks amazing, and there's a reason so many people are bragging about it. The game looks amazing, and the controls are somewhat like COD, although this game also seems to be just better than COD. It will surely sell incredibly well, and a sequel is sure to come, but to which console exclusively, I'm not sure(they might make Titanfall 2 a PS4 exclusive).
(Watch Dogs)
Watch Dogs is a game that has fascinated the gaming world, and it keeps fascinating every time it's shown. With it's gameplay and new and interesting idea for gameplay(the hacking, specifically), this game will be something not seen before. It will also sell very well, and will completely assuredly get a sequel, although we don't know when that sequel would come out.
(The Order: 1886)
This game is one of the only PS4 exclusives that really grabbed my attention. And it's being recognized by many other gamers, as well. The whole premise for this game seems interesting to me, so I can say that, out of curiosity alone, this game will sell well. But, mattering on whether it's good or not, will determine whether or not a sequel for this game will become a real thing.
I hope you've enjoyed reading this. Like I said up at the very top, if there's a game that I didn't name that you want my opinion on, than put it in the comments below. I will tell you how I think it's going to do. I can't tell you what I have in store for you guys tomorrow, but I do hope that you guys really like it. Have a nice day!
